Britney Spears has broken up with her boyfriend of eight months, Charlie Ebersol, and appears to be embracing the single life.

Spears and Ebersol reportedly ended their courtship on good terms, and not much is known about their breakup. And it’s doubtful Ebersol, a television producer, will speak publicly about his relationship with the pop star, as her father reportedly had Ebersol sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Most reports speculate the split was amicable, but a report by Us Weekly quotes a source who appeared suspicious of Ebersol’s motives, suggesting a more dramatic scenario. “I just felt that he was in it for the wrong reasons,” claimed the source. However, TMZ reported that the relationship had simply run its course.

Meanwhile, Spears fueled rumors of a messy breakup by deleting all photos of Ebersol from her Instagram page and sharing a photo of her getting cozy with a “Louisiana boy” one day before the news of her breakup broke.

On Sunday, Spears took a photo with a man, now identified as Harris Beall, of the two standing close together in a boat, writing simply, “So nice to be home! Nothing like Louisiana boys.”

Rumors immediately spread that Beall was Spears’ new man, but Beall has denied any relationship, instead claiming that it was a chance encounter. He even joked about it on his personal Twitter page. “I think the whole thing is funny,” he told Access Hollywood.
