Britney Spears Says That She ‘Will Never Return To The Music Industry’ Despite The Rumors Of A New Album

Pop icon Britney Spears, 42, has no desire to create another album even though her management team is pushing her to produce a tenth studio album.

Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday, “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!”

She claims that writing is an activity that she does for fun, and as it says in her book, “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”

Spears has not released much music of her own in past years but has written more than 20 songs for other artists. She says that she is a “ghostwriter” and prefers it that way.

In addition to putting the rumors of new music to rest, she also dismissed the story that her memoir The Woman in Me, was released without her permission. She stated she was proud of her book and eager to see its success.

Some of the writers who have been consulted on Spears’ alleged new album are Charli XCX and Julia Michaels.

Members of Spears’ A&R team have stated that they are encouraging Spears to record more music, but she has not agreed to any album plans. She wrote, “Pushing forward in my music career is not my focus at the moment.”

Last fall, Spears split from husband Sam Asghari, who is now living in a $10,000 per month L.A. apartment, which she pays for. The singer reportedly hasn’t seen her two sons in a year since they moved to Hawaii with their father, Kevin Federline.
