Britney Spears & Sam Asghari Reportedly Split After Just A Year Of Marriage

Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari have reportedly separated and are headed toward a divorce. 

The two have only been married for one year but have been arguing recently over alleged cheating allegations.

Asghari has moved out of their shared home and is currently living on his own. They have been unhappy for months, and Asghari had frequently slept away from their home.

Social media has been rife with rumors for months about a possible split. The couple has rarely been seen together in the last few months, and Spears is frequently spotted without her wedding ring in public.  

Spears has a prenup in place that will protect her if the couple does decide to divorce.

The former couple began dating back in 2016 when he was hired to work in her music video for her song, “Slumber Party.”

Asghari has always been a fierce protector of Spears, as in the past when she faced backlash for her actions. This includes the #FreeBritney movement, where he posted a picture on his Instagram of himself wearing a “Free Britney” shirt. During this time, Spears shared she was planning to marry Asghari and wanted to start a family with him.

In September 2021, the couple officially got engaged, sharing photos of them together and her new ring on Instagram. They tied the knot in a private ceremony at their home in Thousand Oaks, California, in June 2022. They invited 60 guests, including celebrities Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton and Madonna. 

Neither Spears nor Asghari has formally filed for divorce.
