Britney Spears Praises Justin Timberlake’s New Music & Apologizes For Slamming Him In Her New Book
Pop icon Britney Spears applauded Justin Timberlake‘s new song “Selfish” in an Instagram post and apologized for comments made in her memoir The Woman In Me.
“I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book,” she wrote. “If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about I am deeply sorry.”
She then went on to say how much she loved Timberlake’s new song and the “Classroom Instruments” segment with him on Jimmy Fallon‘s show.
Spears also has a song called “Selfish,” which was released in 2011. Her fans took it upon themselves to stand up for her and sent the 2011 hit to the charts to troll Timberlake’s “Selfish.” The two songs competed for exposure on top charts following Timberlake’s release.
Spears fans have held a grudge against Timberlake since they dated and broke it off back in 2002, but with the recent release of her book, she revealed that during their three-year relationship, she had an abortion.
She stated that Timberlake was not as excited about the pregnancy and was the main reason for the decision to get the abortion.
“Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much,” she wrote in her book, “I always expected us to have a family together one day. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
This week, Timberlake announced a new tour to support his album.
