Britney Spears was reportedly struck in the face in a physical altercation with NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s security team.
On Wednesday, Spears was in Las Vegas having dinner with her husband, Sam Asghari, at Catch restaurant. She saw Wembanyama and tried to tap him on the shoulder to ask him for a photo. His security team was handling overexcited fans and when one of the officers turned around to try to push her away, he hit her in the face and knocked her glasses off her face.
Spears attempted to compose herself and went back to her table. The security guard immediately went to Spears and apologized for the incident, which Britney accepted.
Spears’s security team spoke with Wembanyama’s team after, and they filed a police report on her behalf claiming assault. It has not been revealed whether Spears will seek criminal charges.
Damian Smith, the director of team security for the San Antonio Spurs, was identified as the man who hit Spears.
Spears met with officers this morning, and it is unclear how they will proceed with this case, as no news has officially been released.
Spears nor Wembanyama have not spoken publicly about the incident nor confirmed what happened.
Wembanyama was recently picked as the number one player from the 2023 NBA Draft. The French player will begin playing for the Spurs when the upcoming season starts.
Spears posted four different videos on Instagram yesterday, but none of them are related to the incident. They are similar to the other dancing videos she is known to post. Spears was wearing a white crop top with long sleeves and cheeky neon pink bikini bottoms. She completed the outfit with some tall white heeled boots.
