Britney Spears’ Ex Husband, Jason Alexander, Arrested For DUI & Drug Charges

On January 26, Jason Alexander, the ex-husband of Britney Spears, was arrested on DUI and drug related charges. Alexander was known to be a childhood friend of Spears prior to his arrest. The two married in January 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada, only to have their marriage annulled a mere fifty-five hours later due to a petition to the court that stated Spears “lacked understanding of her actions.” A few months after Alexander’s extremely brief marriage to Spears, the latter married the popular rapper and backup dancer Kevin Federline. Alexander claimed that getting married in Las Vegas was Spears’ idea while the two were apparently under the influence at a party.

Despite his claim that he and Spears have regularly kept in contact with each-other, Alexander has made very few public appearances recently. Alexander recently attended a “Free Britney” protest and showcased his support for the fans who were in favor of Spears winning her legal battle for conservator ship with her father.

Alexander was also shown to be a supporter of former President Donald Trump. He was publicly seen during several of the former president’s rallies, including the infamous Capitol protest.

Alexander was charged with driving under the influence, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession or casual exchange of a controlled substance. This is not the first time in which Spears’ former husband has been arrested. In 2015, Alexander was charged with assaulting an unidentified woman whom he was dating at the time. The following year he was arrested for driving under the influence. Alexander was held on a $2,500 bond and was released the following day after his arrest.

Alexander will have to appear in court on April 30 to answer for the charges.
