Britney Spears has checked herself into a mental health facility for a wellness treatment.
In January, the star announced a hiatus from work to take care of her father Jamie after his “life threatening colon rupture.”
And now, the star herself is taking some needed me time.

“Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her — she just realized she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself,” a source told People.
After her successful Britney: Piece of Me Tour, Spears was getting ready for her new show Domination when she decided she needed to seek help and cancel her upcoming shows.

Spears took to Twitter posting and old photo of her parents followed by an emotional caption.
Spears’ first residency had grossed over $100 million in ticket sales as of January 2017 and had been seen by over 700,000 fans, but for Spears, family always comes first.
In recent years, Spears has been focusing on her music and her relationship with her family.
“I am so proud of my daughter and all her accomplishments, but I am especially proud of the mom she is and the woman she has become”, her mom Lynne told People in 2015.
