Britney Spears left her Instagram followers concerned after using a fake British accent in a new video posted this week.
The singer showed her fans a pink dress that she received as a gift.
In the video, she also told her followers to not call the police if she deletes her Instagram, something that happened last month when police completed a welfare check on the singer after worried fans called the police station.
Spears grew up in Kentwood, Louisiana and typically talks in a light Southern accent, but in the video, she sounds like she is trying to pull off a British accent.
“Thank you company for sending me this dress,” the singer said in the clip. She doesn’t reveal which brand sent her the item, but it has since been claimed that the outfit is from Bougie Glitter.
She then went on to say “Never be a rollercoaster,” while running out of the frame.
In the caption of the post, Spears wrote: “Stay humble out there, y’all!!! Hi mommy and daddy, I am a star have you heard ??? Carry on peeps …”
Spears has used a British accent before such as in the 2013 collaboration with Black Eyed Peas founder Will.i.am, “Scream and Shout.”
Earlier this month, Spears denied rumors that she “almost died” in a mental health scare that caused her family, doctors and management team to be concerned over her welfare.
In an Instagram video addressing the situation, she said, “I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well.”
