Bristol Palin Is Pregnant, Calls It ‘A Huge Disappointment’

Bristol Palin announced that she is pregnant with her second child on Thursday, just one month after calling off her wedding to ex-fiancé Dakota Meyer.

Palin, 24, broke the news of her second pregnancy in a blog post, writing, “I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I am pregnant.”

This second pregnancy comes as a shock for Palin, who made headlines in 2008 when it was revealed that she was pregnant at the age of 18. This will be her second child out of wedlock – she is already mom to son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, who is now 6.

“Honestly, I’ve been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one,” she wrote. “At the end of the day there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side, and I know I am fully capable of handling anything that is put in front of me with dignity and grace.”

Palin did not comment on whether or not her pregnancy was a factor in the cancelation of her wedding, nor did she make any mention of the baby’s father. After Palin called off her engagement, she informed supporters on her blog that it was “a painful time for family and friends,” but did not say whether or not she and Meyer were still together. Meyer has not commented on Palin’s announcement, but he did share a motivational quote on Twitter and Instagram that reads, “What then is freedom? The power to live as one wishes.”

Bristol Palin Calls Her Pregnancy “A Huge Disappointment”

After Palin became a teenage mother, she became an advocate for abstinence and publicly pledged not to have sex again until marriage. And, in her announcement, she admitted that her pregnancy was a “disappointment,” writing, “I know this has been, and will be, a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you.”

Palin asked her followers to respect her privacy and refrain from judging her – “I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy.”
