Bristol Palin: 'I Got Played' By Levi

Surprise, surprise. The highly publicized Bristol Palin/Levi Johnston reunion/engagement was nothing more than a big publicity stunt. At least on Johnston’s end. Three weeks after announcing their engagement on the cover of Us Weekly, a tearful Palin told People, "It’s over."

According to Palin, trouble started the day the announcement was made, when Johnston told her that he may have fathered another child. Johnston declined to comment and the unnamed woman has denied his paternity. "He’s just obsessed with the limelight and I got played," Palin said.

Palin’s mother has had a volatile relationship with Johnston since his public put-downs of the entire Palin family. Johnston alleged that Sarah Palin knew he was having premarital sex with her daughter and that she resigned from her position as Alaska’s governor due to marital reasons and as a way to make money. In a statement released today, Palin told People, "I wish for Bristol to be able to move forward in life with her same forgiving, gracious, optimistic spirit, but from henceforth she’ll know to trust but verify. Bristol is strong, she is independent, and she knows what is right for her son." –ELENA COX
