Dakota Meyer has officially filed for divorce from Bristol Palin, the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

BRISTOL PALIN DIVORCED BY DAKOTA MEYER

The pair were only married for less than two years, and Meyer, 29, tried to keep the split under wraps by using just his and Palin’s initials in the divorce documents. People, however, obtained the files, which were filed in Travis County court in Austin, Texas.

According to the documents, Meyer (D.L.M.) and Palin (B.S.M.M.), 27, are undergoing a separation because of “discord or conflict of personalities.” This so-called discord “destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.”

Meyer and Palin share two children, Atlee Bay, 9, and Sailor Grace, 2. The Medal of Honor recipient says he and Palin will most likely enter into a written agreement about the custody of their kids, as well as the division of their estate. Palin is also the mother to Tripp, 9, with ex Levi Johnston.

In an Instagram post from Meyer on Jan. 7, neither he nor Palin appeared with their wedding rings on their hands. “What matters,” was the caption Meyer chose. Just a day earlier, however, Meyer was wearing his dark wedding band in a snap of him and his daughters.

A source tells the magazine that Meyer moved out of the couple’s shared home in Austin around Christmastime and have had their share of relationship difficulties. After announcing their engagement in March 2015, the pair called off the wedding just days before they were set to tie the knot that May. They reunited following that minor split and got married in 2016.

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be. We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!” they told Entertainment Tonight after they became husband and wife. “Hard work and God’s grace are the foundation of our new life together… With the love and support of our family, we know we can get through anything.”
