Brie Larson at the Palm Springs International Film Festival
Brie Larson stunned on the red carpet at the 27th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center in California over the weekend.
Larson wore an emerald green Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2016 gown to the awards ceremony. The backless satin number featured spaghetti straps and a hemline that fell above her ankles. Larson completed her look with gold peep-toe stilettos with ankle straps.
At the film festival, Larson was awarded with the Breakthrough Performance Award for her work in her latest flick, Room. “Thank you Palm Springs International Film Festival for the Breakthrough Performance award,” Larson captioned a picture on Instagram. “I laughed, I cried, I ate bread. Jacob got laser eyeballs. We had FUN.”
Larson also shared a picture of herself with Oscar-winning actress, Cate Blanchette. Seeming to be a bit starstruck, she captioned the image, “YesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesYES.”
In Room, Larson plays a woman, who is being held captive in a room with her son Jack (Jacob Tremblay). When her son turns five, having only known life within the room, they manage to escape. Room was directed by Lenny Abrahamson from a screenplay by Emma Donoghue, who wrote the book of the same name.
Room was released in select theaters back in October to critical acclaim.
