Brian Laundrie’s sister has asked her brother to turn himself.
“I would tell my brother to just come forward and get us out of this horrible mess,” Cassie Laundrie told Good Morning America.
Brian has been named a person of interest by the FBI after the body of Gabby Petito was found following a road trip the two took together. Brian returned home alone and went missing shortly after.
Brian refused to cooperate with law enforcement before disappearing.
His sister has conflicting feelings regarding her brother. “I worry about him, I hope he’s ok, and then I’m angry, and I don’t know what to think,” she said.
This public statement was in stark contrast to how her parents have handled the situation, as they have refused to make any public statements and have allegedly ignored calls from the Petito family. They also did not report their son missing for multiple days after he disappeared.
Brian has reportedly been sighted in Cary, North Carolina, where he has relatives, but the Cary Police Department has said they have not received any reported sightings.
“We are aware of the posters that have been disseminated at a few locations in our area. With that said, we have not received any reported sightings of Mr. Laundrie,” a spokesperson for the Cary Police Department said.
Anyone with information on Brian’s whereabouts is encouraged to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or (303)-629-7171.
