Country singer Brett Eldredge fed a giraffe while touring the Philadelphia Zoo on Monday.
Eldredge smiled broadly as he offered the zoo’s giraffe a branch with some leaves upon it. The animal, leaning over the fence in the zoo's famed Zoo360 animal exploration trails, happily accepted the food from the musician.
The singer later posted a snap with the giraffe – whose name is Gus – on Instagram, captioning it, "Meet my new Best friend Gus!"
Following his time with the zoo animals, Eldredge treated listeners of Philadelphia country station 92.5 XTU to a concert. The concert was held on the Zoo’s Impala Lawn. Proceeds from the event went towards the care of zoo animals, as well as to other animal habitats around the globe.
Eldredge’s next tour stop will be at the PNC Music Pavillion in Charlotte, N.C., where he’s opening up for Keith Urban. He’ll continue opening up for Urban and Jerrod Neimann through to the first weekend in September. He’ll play a solo show at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, Ky. Sept. 18.
