Breaking Bad 'Confessions' Spoilers: Does Walt Confess To Jessie; Who Meets Walt & Skyler For Dinner?

Breaking Bad’s final eight episodes are underway, with only six remaining before the ultimate fate of Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is revealed. Vince Gilligan and all those involved with the show have taken great pains of the last year or so to guard to contents of the end of the series, but there are still some spoilers to be had.

“Confessions” will follow “Buried” as Breaking Bad’s 11th episode of season five, and threatens to be the 60 minutes in which Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) finally turns in his former chemistry teacher and meth cooking partner. The painfully brief AMC synopsis of the episode reads: "Jesse decides to make a big change in his life, while Walt and Skyler (Anna Gunn) try to deal with an unexpected demand."

The curt preview of “Confessions” offers two very ambiguous phrases – a “big change in his life” for Jesse and an “unexpected demand” for Walt and Skyler. Based off of the end of Sunday night’s episode, where Jesse’s in an interrogation room answering for his cash, there are a number of things that could be considered a big change. A few possibilities: Jesse could simply make the move to skip town, he can opt to shed his morality to get himself out of the bind and get his hands dirty, or he could confess to Hank (Dean Norris) – just his own crimes or take Heisenberg down with him.

As for Walt and Skyler, a still photo revealed in the post-show special Talking Bad, showed the tenuous married couple sitting at a four-top table at a family restaurant. Could the people making the demands be the ones they’re waiting for? Could they be Marie (Betsy Brandt) and Hank? And, what are they demanding? In the sneak peak for “Confessions,” Walt asks, presumably of Skyler about Hank, “What does he know?” She’s heard saying, possibly to Hank and Marie during negotiations, “It’s [the meth cooking?] in the past.”

Watching the sneak peak, it seems like the person confessing might actually not be Jesse to the authorities, but Walt to Jesse. Jesse asks in the 30-second clip, “You telling me the truth, I mean isn’t that what this is all about?” Will Walt really admit to letting Jesse's girlfriend die, almost killing Brock or executing Mike – or all three? Whatever the reason, it would be hard to believe there would be no self-interest involved.

Perhaps, instead of speculating what spoilers can be pulled out of the limited information the show is revealing ahead of the episodes’ airings, fans should just listen to Gilligan. “You need to really settle down on the couch and pay close attention because it's going to come at you fast and furious in the final eight episodes,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “I feel like this ending represents on some level, however small, something of a victory for Walter White. Read into that what you will."

Breaking Bad returns Sunday on AMC at 9/8c.
