After months of dating multiple women on national television, it was finally time for perpetual bachelor Brad Womack to make a decision. The infamous reality contestant—who made his second appearance on the show after rejecting both Jenni Croft or DeAnna Pappas in 2007—selected Emily Maynard over Chantal O'Brien during last night's final rose ceremony.

But O'Brien won't be getting a second shot of love on television anytime soon. Ashley Hebert, the second runner-up this season, will be the newest woman vying for love amidst a sea of cameras and producers, ABC announced on Jimmy Kimmel Live following the finale. The newest season of The Bachelorette will premiere on May 23.

Despite a romantic South African proposal, Bachelor host Chris Harrison revealed that the couple had broken up for a period of time after the show finished filming. Single mom Maynard, 25, insisted that she still loves Womack, 38, but that no wedding plans have been made, citing that the two “have some things [they] need to figure out.” —EMILY EXTON
