Actors Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise reunited on Monday at the London premiere of Pitt’s movie F1.

On the red carpet, Pitt greeted Cruise with a friendly hug before posing beside him for the cameras.

Cruise and Pitt first worked together in the 1994 screen adaptation of Anne Rice’s book Interview with a Vampire. In early June, Pitt told E! News at the Mexico premiere for F1 that he was interested in working with Cruise again.

Although Interview with a Vampire is the only occasion in which Pitt and Cruise have worked together onscreen, the two actors have multiple collaborations in common, as F1 is directed by the team behind Cruise’s 2022 film Top Gun: MaverickJoseph Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer

F1 follows the retired racer Sonny Hayes as he returns to Formula One. The movie enlisted the support of Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodina, Lewis Hamilton, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem.

In an interview with GQ, Kosinski revealed that he had previously planned to reunite Cruise and Pitt in onscreen roles opposite each other in his rendition of the racing movie Ford v Ferrari. However, his budget was never approved by the studio.

Pitt and Cruise had both wanted to do all the driving in the movie themselves, which Pitt has now accomplished in F1. Kosinski speculated on what would have happened had Cruise starred in F1 rather than Pitt, saying, “Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled…They both have a natural talent for driving. But yeah, I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.”

Ford v Ferrari was eventually directed by James Mangold, starring Christian Bale and Matt Damon.

F1 is set to hit theaters on June 27.
