Brad Pitt Sends Special Video Message To Missouri State University Graduates

On Monday night, Missouri State University (MSU) posted a video from Brad Pitt in which the Oscar winner congratulated the school’s recent college graduates.

Pitt was born in Oklahoma but moved to Springfield, Missouri at a young age.

The college tweeted: “We have one more surprise for our #BearGrads: A special message from one of Springfield’s own. Thanks, Brad.”

In the video, Pitt says, “Hi Everyone! Brad here from quarantine, with a shout-out to the graduating class of Missouri State University! Yeah! It must be very strange doing this in these trying times but know we’re rooting for you. Our money’s on you to make this world a better place, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.”

“So, you did it! You made it! Enjoy, congrats again, and think big,” Pitt said.

On May 12, an assistant professor at the college took to Twitter to try and land a congratulatory video from Pitt. The tweet read, “I had a wild idea that Brad Pitt would do his hometown a solid & cheer up @MissouriState grads who won’t walk this Friday. Haven’t heard from anyone I emailed, so here’s a video I never thought I’d share. Last shot for my students. @HiltzikStrat help us! Twitter, do your thing.”

Pitt is one of many celebrities celebrating and sending messages to the graduating class of 2020.

On Saturday night, former President Barack Obama along with Pharrell Williams, the Jonas Brothers, Zendaya, H.E.R., Kevin Hart, Alicia Keys and more stars joined together for a virtual event, Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020.

Other celebrities and public figures teamed up to create “Commencement: Speeches for the class of 2020,” a podcast series from iHeartMedia that is available on music and podcast streaming platforms.
