Body Of Missing Mom Suzanne Morphew Found, Husband Files $15 Million Lawsuit After Being Wrongfully Accused Of Her Murder

On Mother’s Day 2020, Suzanne Morphew, a Colorado 49-year-old mother of two, was reported missing.

Despite not having found a body, local authorities called for the arrest of her husband, Barry Morphew, shortly after she disappeared.

Text messages between the two indicated anything but a happy marriage. They were both involved in extramarital affairs. Barry even caught Suzanne sending a photograph of herself in a bikini to her lover, Jeff Libler, through Linkedin.

By then, the two had already planned to end their relationship for good. One of Suzanne’s final messages to her husband was that she was “done” with the relationship.

Melinda Balzer, Suzanne’s sister, said that Barry had been “very dominant in the relationship” and had a “tendency to overpower and intimidate people.” She suggested that her sister felt that way in the marriage, even sharing “lengthy” text messages Suzanne had sent her only days before her death. In these messages, Suzanne shared intimate and “revealing” details of her marriage. Melinda said that her sister was afraid.

For this reason, Melinda and the authorities believed that Barry was involved somehow. When he was tried, Barry maintained that he was innocent throughout the trial. However, Melinda did not believe him and begged him to “tell the truth.”

His two daughters, on the other hand, came in defense of their father and stood by him. Soon, the charges were dropped, and he was declared innocent.

Barry filed a $15 million lawsuit against Chafee County, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, the FBI and prosecutors for violating his civil rights.

Since then, the police remain unsure about the cause of her death. There have been reports that Suzanne had been hanging out with a “bad crowd,” but nothing can be proven yet.

Last week, there was a major break in her case when Suzanne’s body was found recently, thanks to another unrelated investigation.

Her sister put out a statement thanking everyone, sharing her mixed feelings about finally finding her sister’s body.

She said she was mostly relieved she was found.

Melinda did ask people to shift some of the attention her sister got to Edna Quintana, a missing 55-year-old woman. She called her a “catalyst” for finding her sister’s remains.
