Bobby Brown, making his first public appearance since his daughter Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized earlier this year, admitted that his family has been going through some “rough time.”
Brown, 46, left Bobbi Kristina’s bedside to perform at the Soul Food Festival in Los Angeles Saturday. A song into his set, the singer took a moment to address his daughter’s poor health and the toll it has taken on his family, and to thank those who’ve been keeping his daughter with the late Whitney Houston in their thoughts.
“I wanna thank all of y’all for coming out tonight, for supporting me and my family,” Brown said. “Rough times are rough times. Hard times are hard times. I don’t know what the hell I’m going through right now, but I’m giving it to God.”
Brown’s wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, was also present at the event, serving at the Bobby Brown Foods booth. Asked about the family, she said that it is “doing as well as you’d expect” to People magazine.
Bobbi Kristina, 22, has remained on life support and in a medically induced coma since Jan. 31, when she was found unresponsive in the bathtub of the Atlanta area residence she shared with Nick Gordon.
