Bob Dylan Accused Of Sexually Abusing 12 Year Old In 1965

Bob Dylan is now the subject of a lawsuit that alleges that he sexually abused a 12-year-old female 46 years ago. The suit was filed on Friday, Aug. 13.

Dylan, whose legal name is Robert Zimmerman, stands accused of sexual abuse and threats of physical violence against the girl, who was 12 years old at the time. The child is only identified as “J.C.” in the lawsuit. The abuse is stated to have occurred over six weeks in April and May of 1965. One location where the alleged abuse took place is Dylan’s apartment, which was located in the Chelsea Hotel of New York.

The singer-songwriter allegedly provided drugs and alcohol to the young girl.

A spokesperson for Dylan addressed the lawsuit in a statement made to USA Today.

“The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”

Daniel W. Isaacs is the attorney who filed the lawsuit against Dylan. “Dylan’s predatory, sexual and unlawful acts against Plaintiff amounted to a series of harmful and offensive contacts to Plaintiff’s person, all of which were done intentionally by him to her without her consent,” stated the lawsuit he filed.

“The complaint speaks for itself. We’ll prove all of the allegations in a court of law,” said Isaacs. “The complaint was filed after much research and thorough vetting and there’s no doubt that she was with him at the Hotel Chelsea.”

The lawsuit was filed just one day before the “look-back” window of The New York Child Victims Act expired. This allows for victims of abuse to file suits against the perpetrators, regardless of how long ago the incidents occurred. Normally, allegations this old could not be examined in court.
