Boat Belonging To Missing Florida Teens Perry Cohen & Austin Stephanos Found At Sea

A Norwegian research crew recently located a boat that is believed to be tied to two teens who went missing last summer off the coast of Bermuda.

MISSING TEENS’ BOAT FOUND IN BERMUDA

The boat, a 19-foot Seacraft vessel that belonged to Perry Cohen and Austin Stephanos, both 14, was discovered and removed by a Norwegian ship.

Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Ryan Doss confirmed the discovery of the boat but made no comment on the location of the two boys. The marine store sticker and engine serial number helped identify the owner Doss added.

“The boat was subsequently confirmed to be the boat that belonged to Austin Stephanos,” Rob Klepper, a spokesman for the law enforcement division of the Fish And Wildlife Conservation Commission, said in a statement.

The two teens were first missing back in July off the coast of Jupiter, Florida. Their disappearance sparked a search by the Coast Guard that spanned from Daytona Beach to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Private searches also took place from the Bahamas to Virginia Beach.

“The personal effects that were onboard the boat will be returned to the families of the victims, and subsequent information retrieval efforts from any of those items will be at their discretion,” Klepper said. “The (Fish And Wildlife Commission) will examine the vessel for any new information, and return the boat to the family.”

The family is hoping that the iPhone that was discovered will lead to more clues to discovering the missing teenagers.
