2022 has been a good year for rock fans, with bands from My Chemical Romance to Paramore on big tours right now, and now there’s going to be even more with the announced reunion of blink-182. The band’s bassist and co-lead vocalist, Mark Hoppus, shared a video announcing a new album and world tour from the band, which just added Tom DeLonge back to their lineup as well.
Hoppus is also on the other side of a battle with cancer, having been diagnosed with stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in 2021. As of late September, Hoppus announced he is cancer-free and has to be screened every six months to check if it returns. With this recent positive health news, it’s great to see blink-182 preparing to tour and record again.
They didn’t just throw some grainy concert photo on their social media accounts to make the announcement either. The band also shared an extremely well-shot commercial parody with people on the street all making variations of the same innuendo about how much they want the blink-182 to “come” to their town.
Along with an upcoming world tour and new album, the blink-182 has a brand-new single, “Edging” premiering this Friday.
