‘Black Panther’ Star Chadwick Boseman Dies At 43 From Colon Cancer

On August 28, it was announced on his Twitter page that actor Chadwick Boseman died after a private four-year battle with colon cancer at the age of 43. Many fans were shocked when they heard the news, as Boseman had his massive acting breakthrough during the same time in which he was dealing with colon cancer.

Boseman started his acting career when he appeared as a guest actor in the NBC crime drama series Third Watch in 2003. Boseman then starred in a recurring role on the ABC soap opera All My Children during that same year. Boseman made his feature-length film debut as professional football player Floyd Little in the biopic The Express: The Ernie Davis Story. He earned his first starring role as the legendary professional baseball player Jackie Robinson in the biopic 42 in 2014 and then appeared in yet another biopic that same year as James Brown in the film Get on Up. Boseman eventually achieved international stardom playing the character Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain America: Civil War in 2016, before going on in 2018 to star in the title role in Black Panther, one of the most highly acclaimed comic book movies from the 2010s.

For his role in Black Panther, Boseman was nominated for several awards, and won for Best Performance and Best Hero at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, and for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture at the NAACP Image Awards. Boseman continued to play the character until Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

Many celebrities have paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter, with many of them praising him for continuing with his acting career despite the fact that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016.
