When Does ‘Black Mirror’ Season 4 Premiere? Netflix Releases Titles & Cast Of New Season

Netflix has released the latest info on Black Mirror season four, including episode titles, directors, and cast members.

NETFLIX RELEASES BLACK MIRROR INFO

Season three of the popular tech-horror show lasted six episodes in October 2016, leaving six remaining for probably fall 2017. Creator Charlie Brooker dropped some hints about the fate of season four.

“When we did previous seasons, we realized after we’d done the first two that basically each one was a slightly different genre, and we actively approached the first Netflix season like that,” Brooker said. “And we’re carrying that forward [into season four], so we’ve got some strikingly different tones and looks.”

Jodie Foster will direct an episode starring Poltergeist actress Rosemarie Dewitt that will have an indie movie feel to it, and will focus on a mother-daughter relationship. “We’ve got one that’s overtly comic, much more overtly comic than anything we’ve done. It’s got fairly mainstream comic elements, but also some really unpleasant stuff that happens. I haven’t even seen the rough cut of it yet.”

Brooker adds that the third episode, that is currently filming in Iceland, is more of a crime thriller, and that episode four has “relationships at the heart of it,” but will be very different from the third season’s San Junipero. “I think we sort of captured lightening in a bottle there,” he said, admitting that the episode “terrifies” him “in a way.”

Brooker has almost been dubbed a seer, as previous episodes have seemed to predict future political scandals and technological approaches. Some look at the 2013 episode “The Waldo Moment” as a prediction of Donald Trump‘s presidential win.

“You try and think, okay, that went really well, what else can we do? But you’ve got to then immediately put everything you think of out of your mind, because you can’t really do the same thing again,” he said, adding, “If we were trying to predict the real world, we’d have to think about where the real world’s going to be in another six months or so. That’s either going to be disgrace or war as far as I’m concerned.”

Below are the current titles and directors of the six episodes. Brooker still has two left to write and finish.
