Suspected serial killer Rex Heuermann had some surprising acquaintances. It turns out that actor Billy Baldwin, also known as William Baldwin, went to high school with him.
Billy, the second youngest of the four Baldwin brothers, got on Twitter the morning of Heuermann’s arrest to share that he went to the same high school as the then-suspected Gilgo Beach murderer.
“Woke up this morning to learn that the Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect was my high school classmate Rex Heuermann,” Billy wrote.
He then wrote the name of the high school they attended together, Berner High School in Massapequa, New York, and the year they graduated in 1981.
“Married, two kids, architect. ‘Average guy…quiet, family man.’ Mind-boggling…Massapequa is in shock,” Billy added. “23andMe strikes again???”
Billy was born and raised in Massapequa, as were his other siblings, excluding Alec, who was born in Amityville. All Baldwin brothers, however, reportedly went to Berner High School.
Last week, the seventh out of 11 victims was identified as Karen Vergata, 34.
Others who have been identified are Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Amber Costello, 27, Megan Waterman, 22, Valerie Mack (also known as Melissa Taylor), 24, and Jessica Taylor, 20.
Heuermann has been charged with the murders of Barthelemy, Waterman and Castello, and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
