Billionaire Jeff Bezos‘ fianceé, Lauren Sánchez, recently shared a video on Instagram that showcased her piloting skills as she flew her son Nikko Gonzalez, 23, and actor Orlando Bloom, 47, in a helicopter for a skydiving excursion.
Sánchez, 54, who shares her eldest child Nikko with ex-boyfriend NFL tight end Tony Gonzalez, has also been open about her other children – son Evan, 17, and daughter Ella, 16, whom she had with her ex-husband Patrick Whitesell. In the video, Sánchez pilots the aircraft with a warm smile as her son and Bloom prepare for their skydive with a fist bump.
Sánchez captioned the post, “I guess you could call me a helicopter mom.”
Gonzalez’s stepmother, October (Tobie) Gonzalez, commented on the post, “Omg, lol,” while Kris Jenner added, “🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
Sánchez’s passion for aviation extends beyond her latest high-flying adventure. Earlier this summer, Sánchez shared a video of herself flying a helicopter over the ocean. She captioned the video, “‘The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.’ – Amelia Earhart,” and added, “Every flight teaches me to embrace the journey and stay resilient. The sky isn’t the limit; it’s just the beginning. 🚁.”
Sánchez’s aviation journey has been marked by significant achievements.
In January, she was honored by the aviation community and received the Elling Halvorson Vertical Flight Hall of Fame Award for her expertise as a helicopter pilot and aviation businesswoman. She had previously signed up for classes at a flight school in Los Angeles to obtain her helicopter pilot’s license.
In 2016, Sánchez solidified her role in the industry when she became one of the first women to own and operate an aerial film and production company, Black Ops Aviation. This venture has allowed her to combine her journalistic skills with her love for aviation, creating unique and visually stunning content.
Sanchez was seen earlier this summer piloting Bezos between his $500 million super yacht and the Greek islands.
