Bill Nye Returning To TV With New Netflix Show

Bill Nye “The Science Guy” will be returning to TV with a new talk show that’s slated to make its debut on Netflix in 2017.

Nye’s new show, Bill Nye Saves the World, will be a talk show that, unsurprisingly, discusses science. It will go into how science impacts society, pop culture and politics, according to Engadget. One of the themes of his show will be dispelling untrue claims about science-related matters.

Bill Nye Saves the World will also feature a number of special guests, and like Bill Nye the Science Guy, it will include experiments and demonstrations.

“Since the start of the Science Guy show, I’ve been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science. I’m excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we’ll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods, and climate change,” Nye said in a statement. “With the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.”

Bill Nye Saves the World will premiere on Netflix in Spring 2017. Nye’s Bill Nye the Science Guy aired on PBS from 1993-1998.
