Bill Nye, known as ‘Bill Nye the Science Guy,’ teamed up with General Electric to explain the concept of Evolution using Emojis.
In the video, Bill Nye explains how evolution created life as we know it as emojis popped up on the screen to illustrate the concept.
Bill Nye, known for bringing science to children through his series Bill Nye the Science Guy, which aired for 5 seasons from 1993 to 1998 and is still used in classrooms today. The Evolution Emoji video was a part of General Electric’s #EmojiScience lab, which asked users to send in an emoji to have Bill Nye create and execute a short experiment based on it.
Nye has been speaking about evolution quite a bit since his big debate with creationist Ken Ham in February. The Evolution vs. Creationism debate lasted almost three hours and has wracked up over 3 million views on YouTube. Nye recently published a book on the topic of evolution titled Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation.
Both his book and his Evolution Emoji video is aimed at educating a young audience. “It’s about the future, the next generation. People who are going to do the next thing after the iPhone, the people who are going to desalinate water with lower energy costs than we have now. Those people, that’s who I’m writing for,” Nye said.
