Heidi Montag’s father Bill Montag was arrested on child sex abuse and incest charges in Colorado Thursday.
Bill Montag Arrested
Montag was arrested at Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club and charged with three counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and one charge of aggravated incest. If convicted of the class-three felonies, Montag could face four to 12 years behind bars and up to $750,000 in fines.
The unidentified victim claims that Montag started abusing her when she was just 13 and continued to do so until she turned 17. The accuser claims that Montag abused her upwards of 50 times.
“His life is in ruins now,” Melody Morris, a friend of the wife of the accused, Terri Montag, told the Daily Mail. “Even if he’s proven innocent that dark cloud will still loom over him. They are a lovely couple and amazing neighbors so nobody would have seen this coming.”
“We’re friends so I’m just concentrating on looking after the dogs. Terri sent me a message asking me to take care of things here,” Morris added of Montag’s wife, who is not the mother of The Hills star. “I haven’t asked her about the case because it’s so awkward. She hasn’t told me where she is or when she’ll be home – just that I’m in charge of making sure her dogs are fed and watered. She could be anywhere.”
Sources close to Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt claim that the individual making the accusations is lying and “is determined to destroy the family,” reported TMZ. The accused allegedly has a history of stalking the reality TV couple, which thinks that Bill Montag will be fully exonerated.
