Phoebe Gates, Bill Gates’s daughter, and her boyfriend are celebrating one year together this week, and pictures taken recently are gaining much attention on Twitter – and plenty of debate about race and class.
The 20-year-old Stanford student is dating Robert Ross, a Stanford alum.

Ross graduated from Stanford University in 2022 with a bachelor’s in computer science and co-founded Lume, an AI tool that helps engineers build and maintain data integrations.
The couple constantly shares their romance on social media. They have received much backlash online from people about her interracial relationship.
Much of the criticism she receives is on Twitter.
