Bill Gates Has Asperger’s Syndrome, Daughter Phoebe Gates Reveals

Phoebe Gates, daughter of billionaire Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, disclosed that her father has Asperger’s syndrome—a condition he has not publicly confirmed himself. 

In a recent appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Phoebe humorously recounted the experience of introducing boyfriends to her father, describing him as “pretty socially awkward” and noting, “He’s said before, he has Asperger’s.”

While Bill Gates, 69, has never formally announced a diagnosis, he has acknowledged traits consistent with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). 

In his 2025 memoir Source Code, Bill reflected on his childhood behaviors, such as intense focus on projects and difficulty picking up social cues, stating, “If I were growing up today, I probably would be diagnosed on the autism spectrum.”

Bill recently revealed that he was glad that Phoebe didn’t ask him for money to back her shopping app.
