Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille Cosby, has broken her silence on her husband’s conviction. On Wednesday, Camille spoke out in her first major interview in six years after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed to hear Bill’s appeal to overturn his 2018 sex assault case.
The television star has been imprisoned for almost two years in suburban Philadelphia after a jury convicted him of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman back in 2004. Bill is set to serve somewhere between three and ten years in prison.
In her interview with ABC News Camille said, “Finally, there is a court — the state’s highest court — that has said, ‘Wait a minute. There are some problems here.’”
Camille also added that she believes racism is the root of her husband’s incarceration. She continued to say the women who testified against Bill presented no proof.
“The #MeToo movement and movements like them have intentional ignorance pertaining to the history of particular white women who have — from the very beginning — accused black males of sexual assault without any proof whatsoever, no proof, anywhere on the face of the earth,” Camille said.
Camille commented that she does not care if she receives backlash from the #MeToo movement.
