It looks like Bill Cosby‘s legal troubles are far from over. After being convicted of sexual assault in 2018, the 81-year-old comedian is currently serving a 3-to-10 year prison sentence in Pennsylvania – while fighting his legal fees in court.
According to published reports, Cosby is fighting the law firm Quinn Emanuel on the amount of money he owes them. Reportedly, the law firm billed Cosby $1 million per month before his first trial, costing him $9.2 million for their total of nine months’ work. In arbitration, a panel upheld $6.7 million of the total bill, leaving Cosby with $2.4 million left to pay after paying $2 million himself and $2.3 million through insurance. Cosby disputes the claim and requests a review of the arbitration decision, as well as a refund of the money he already paid.
Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt had no comment, saying he has not been involved in the dispute. Back in January, Cosby confidentially settled a case with another law firm, Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis, over $244,000 in bills.
