‘Big Brother’ Recap: Kaitlin Barnaby Goes Home; Aaryn Gries Is New Head Of Household

Big Brother was ready to see another housemate get the boot on last night's episode, with the unlikeable trio of Aaryn Gries, Kaitlin Barnaby and GinaMarie Zimmerman on the block.

Host and housemother Julie Chen reveals that MVP America had actually voted Aaryn as the player they’d most like to see go home. However, since Aaryn was already on the block, it was runner up Elissa Slater who became in danger of elimination. When Elissa won the power of veto, that put third place GinaMarie at risk.

Aaryn decides it's time to start playing the game and throwing her two “friends” under the bus to save her own skin. She makes GinaMarie out to be the most negative and generally awful person in the house, while declaring Kaitlin as the biggest long-term threat. She tries to treat with Judd Daugherty and Jessie Kowalski, promising she’d have their back if the situation was ever to be reversed. Judd suggests Aaryn just try to lay low for the time being.

Elissa really wants Aaryn out of the house because somehow her racism hurts Elissa’s game. Judd, meanwhile, tries to convince Howard Overby and Candice Stewart to keep Aaryn in the house despite the fact that she’s a “monster.” Why? It’s smarter, since she’s probably the least likely housemate to win the game. When Aaryn tries to make a deal with Elissa, Elissa states without irony, “I just don’t support mean girls.” Did she forget making Amanda Zuckerman cry in the bathroom the other day?

For whatever reason, Judd tells Helen Kim about his alliance with Spencer Clawson, Howard and Kaitlin. Helen now wants Kaitlin out of the house as well, and goes to tell Elissa and Amanda what she’s learned. In the end, Helen gets her way. When the votes come in, everyone – Amanda, Helen, Candice, Elissa, Spencer, Howard, McCrae Olson, Andy Heron and Jessie – votes for Kaitlin.

"Roulette Me Win" is the name of this week’s Head of Household competition. Each person simply has to throw a ball at a spinning wheel – the person with the highest score is the winner. The game of pure luck was won by none other than the universally despised Aaryn.

Big Brother returns Sunday at 8/7c.
