‘Big Brother’ Recap: Andy Heron, GinaMarie Zimmerman & Spencer Clawson Make Final Three

Big Brother returned with a tenuous alliance between the remaining Exterminators and a chance for McCrae Olson to save himself through splintering the group or winning the Power of Veto.

By winning the Power of Veto last week, McCrae was able to take himself off the block. Spencer Clawson, who had been the Head of Household, replaced McCrae with Judd Maguire, who was ultimately sent home instead of GinaMarie Zimmerman. After getting rid of one of their own, the Exterminators were in jeopardy of dissolving, especially if McCrae won Head of Household. But he didn’t; Andy Heron did.

Andy decides to nominate McCrae and Spencer for eviction, which makes the 8-times nominated railroad worker a bit nervous that Andy may have turned on him.

At the jury house, evictees Candice Stewart, Jessie Kowalski, Helen Kim, Aaryn Gries, Elissa Slater and Judd Maguire analyze what’s gone on in the Big Brother house and what can be expected with the final four. Aaryn is proud that she recognized Andy’s capabilities long ago. Helen acknowledges that Andy’s devious gameplay has proven to be most effective. They’re all also complimentary of GinaMarie’s late prowess in the game – save Amanda and Candice of course.

This week’s Power of Veto competition once again involves a puzzle of sorts. The competitors have to put it together using clues about formerly evicted houseguests. After they complete the puzzle, they have to buzz it in. McCrae buzzes first, but his puzzle isn’t done properly and his pieces fall to the ground. Andy wins.

Spencer, still nervous that Andy could turn on him, promises him a trip to the final two. He also seems to make the same argument to McCrae, covering his bases no matter what Andy decides to do with the veto. McCrae tries his own bit of manipulation, attempting to convince Andy that the only housemate he stands a chance against is him. In the end, Andy chooses not to use the Power of Veto, leaving Spencer and McCrae on the block.

Prior to the eviction, the Exterminators come clean to McCrae and let him know that the game will require them to send him packing. As is expected, at the eviction ceremony GinaMarie votes for McCrae.

When McCrae walks out for his chat with Julie Chen, he gets a rousing round of applause from the studio audience. He holds no hard feelings towards the Exterminators, and blames himself for not realizing how strong it was and not keeping Elissa in the house. As for McCranda? He’s not sure what will become of them outside of the house, but felt that he should have distance himself from Amanda for the sake of his game.

Big Brother returns Sunday on CBS at 8/7c.
