Contestants of Germany’s Big Brother have been cut off from news about the coronavirus outbreak since February.
The reality show follows 14 men and women as they live together in a house without contact from the outside world. Producers of the show have taken these rules to an extreme, creating an ethical nightmare. Contestants of the show have been in isolation since February 6.
The Guardian reported that, “the show’s producers… defended the decision not to update the housemates on the crisis going on in the outside world… the information blackout would only be lifted in certain circumstances, such as a family member’s illness.”
There are 7,588 confirmed cases in Germany and 17 deaths.
