Beyoncé surprised fan Ebony Banks, who suffers from a rare form of cancer, with a FaceTime call.
Banks, a senior at a high school in Houston, is battling stage four cancer and her dream was to meet Beyoncé. Her friends launched a social media campaign with the hashtag #EboBMeetsBeyonce, which subsequently went viral, and made its way in front of the pop star.
“We just decided she should meet Beyonce,” said friend Shayna McKnight. “We started this hashtag to see how far we could get.” Well Beyoncé did in fact become aware of the campaign and gave Banks a call via FaceTime as she sat in her hospital bed.
The pair exchanged “I love you”s in a quick call, video of which has been circulating the Internet.
“It was like wow, it really happened,” McKnight said. “We actually got her attention.”
Brown will be accompanied by guest artists Scotty McCreery, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley Cooke and Dasha.
