Beyonce and husband Jay Z have reportedly welcomed the much-anticipated additions to their family.
Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, officially confirmed the news on Twitter today. He wrote “Happy Birthday to the twins” and “Love, Granddad”:
The couple themselves have yet to make the big announcement. TMZ reported that Beyonce actually gave birth last week, but a “minor issue” has kept them in the hospital.
Most reports speculate that the singer is having a boy and a girl, although a message released by Barack Obama seems to hint that they’re having girls. “Jay and I are also fools for our daughters. Although, he’s going to have me beat once those twins show up,” Obama said.
Previously, fans were convinced Beyonce is expecting a girl and a boy after a string of photographs picturing Beyonce in blue and pink.
It is not yet clear exactly when the singer was expected to give birth, and how long ago the twins arrived. The star first announced her pregnancy back in February.
We also don’t know what the babies’ names are yet – but Beyonce and Jay Z are fans of unique names, naming their eldest daughter Blue Ivy.
