There was never any doubt that the couple comprised of one of the most popular singers of the past several decades and the one of the most popular rappers of the same era, were ever just scraping by. But now we know for sure just how much Beyonce and Jay Z‘s net worth is – beyond their artistic and cultural contribution, of course.
The celebrity couple is worth a combined $1.16 billion net worth, according to Forbes and their most recent “America’s Most Wealthy Self-Made Women” list.
Jay Z, according to the magazine, is worth $810 million while his wife has amassed $350 million personally. Between their musical and business endeavors, the couple, who married in April 2008, pushes well over the one billion dollar mark.
While Beyonce has made the majority of her fortune with her music and her legendary tours, her husband, while successful in his own right musically, has had a strong career as a businessman.
Jay Z, who ranks only behind P. Diddy as the most wealthy hip-hop artist of all-time, has started several successful business over the course of his career – he has also signed lucrative sponsorship deals, including a recent deal with Live Nation for $200 million.
The rapper owns his own full-service entrainment agency, Roc Nation, as well as clothing company, Rocawear, and the New York City bar, 40/40 Club. He has also recently began to produce films, including an upcoming documentary about the death of Trayvon Martin.
Both Beyonce and Jay Z each personally own a large stake in the music streaming service Tidal, which Jay Z purchased for $56 million two years ago. Soon after, Sprint invested $200 million into Tidal for a 33 percent stake in the company. The investment sent the value of the streaming service up to $600 million.
Jay Z, 47, and Beyonce, 35, have one child Blue Ivy Carter, 5, and are currently expecting twins.
Today marks the 14th anniversary of “Crazy in Love,” Beyonce’s first solo release. The song features her future husband.
