Beyoncé Breaks Record For Most Grammy Wins With 32

Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy wins of all time for an individual artist with her win for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Even before the televised show started, she won two awards – Best Dance/Electronic Recording for “Break My Soul” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa.” She then won Best R&B Song for “Cuff It” before breaking the record with her fourth win of the night.

Her win in the Best Dance/Electronic Album category for Renaissance made her the first black woman to earn the award.

During her acceptance speech, Beyoncé thanked her late “Uncle Jonny,” who she cited as an influence to her exploration of dance music.

“I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing the genre,” the singer went on to say.

The previous record-holder was Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti, who made history over 25 years ago when he earned Best Opera Recording.

Beyoncé led the 2023 Grammys with nine nominations, placing her in a tie for most Grammy nominations with her husband, Jay-Z at 88.

Her first win came in 2001 for the single “Say My Name” when she was a member of the R&B group Destiny’s Child.

Since then, she has won in many genre categories but has failed to take home the top prize of Album of the Year.

You can see her acceptance for Best Dance/Electronic Album below.
