Beyoncé whipped her hair a little too hard at a concert on Saturday, causing her long braid to yank on her earring and her ear to bleed.
Of course, Bey handled it like a champ, and proceeded with the concert, not even missing a beat. Some fans, however, obviously noticed the bleeding ear, and some started a Twitter campaign with the hashtag #CutForBeyonce or #BleedForBeyonce.
The disturbing twitter trend sees fans upload pictures of slit wrists, captioning the photos with a sentiment about bleeding in solidarity with Beyoncé, the Queen. Most of the photos are clearly faked or stolen, leading most to believe it is just a hoax.
A similar story appeared a few years ago with a #CutForBieber campaign, where fans of Justin Bieber claimed to cut themselves for the young star. #CutForBeyonce isn’t even new, having first appeared in 2013.
Still, fans and observers alike are disturbed by the trending hashtag.
