Betty White appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live with a black eye on Thursday night, and joked that instead of powdering her nose, Jimmy Kimmel’s resident makeup artist punched her in the face.

The 93-year-old comedian paid Kimmel a visit, and Kimmel kicked off the interview by asking about her black eye. “Oh, well, the makeup lady had a little problem with me and she hit me,” White said, causing Kimmel to giggle.

“It was so unexpected! I thought she had a powder puff. She had her fist,” White added.

Kimmel played along, telling her, “I apologize. That is not how we expect our staff to behave with a guest.”

After a little back and forth, White revealed what really caused her black eye: “I slipped and fell in the kitchen – of all things…I never go in the kitchen because it’s dangerous! Of course!”

Moving on from White’s black eye, Kimmel asked White about her love of driving. “Do you remember how old you were when you got your license?” he asked. “I think I was four. No, no, no. That was something else! That’s when I lost my virginity,” White answered swiftly.

Kimmel and his audience delighted in White’s signature racy humor, and later got to see White meet fans that have her likeness tattooed on their bodies.
