'Better Call Saul' Gets Season 2 Confirmed, Season 1 Premiere Pushed Back To 2015

AMC has ordered a second season for Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, but unfortunately, those anticipating the Saul Goodman-centric show will have to wait until 2015 to watch the season 1 premiere.

Better Call Saul News

Better Call Saul returns Bob Odinkirk to the role of the shady yet well-meaning New Mexico lawyer. Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan is back onboard as a co-showrunner and executive producer, and will direct the first episode of Better Call Saul. Peter Gould, who is credited with created the Saul Goodman character for Breaking Bad, is co-showrunner and executive producer with Gilligan on the new series.

“Production on Better Call Saul is underway and we could not be more proud of nor more excited about the work to date," AMC president Charlie Collier in a statement. “We join the fans in eager anticipation for this series and today we happily confirm that our initial Saul order is for two seasons and a total of 23 episodes.”

Collier continued, “When introducing any series, especially one with the DNA of Breaking Bad, there are countless factors to consider in making sure the show gets the launch it deserves. We have a strong history with Vince, Peter, Bob, the studio and so many involved with this production; we are enjoying the process on Saul and all share a focus on making it a true television event. No half measures.”

Better Caul Saul’s first season, which will have 10 episodes, will premiere in February 2015 instead of November 2014. In addition to Odinkirk, Breaking Bad actor Jonathan Banks, who played Mike Ehrmantraut, is onboard for the spinoff.
