On Twitter, Midler shared a picture of Trump at one of his rallies, surrounded by supporters of many different races. Along with the picture, Midler wrote, “Look, there are African American men in this shot! How much did he pay them to be ‘blackground.’ ”
Many on Twitter have criticized her for assuming that African-American can’t make their own political choices.
This Midler-Trump battle has been going on for quite some time. Earlier in June, Midler attributed a fake quote to him, which incorrectly claimed Trump called Republicans “the dumbest group of voters in the whole country.” Midler later posted an apology on Twitter. However, Trump tweeted himself that Midler was a “washed-up psycho.”
