After a court win last Tuesday, Bethenny Frankel‘s spousal support to her soon-to-be ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, has been dropped. The court also ruled that the trust agreement, which granted joint ownership of their Tribeca apartment, is invalid.
“Bethenny is particularly please that the trust agreement, which was used in an attempt to obtain joint ownership of an apartment that she purchased, was rendered void and invalid due to fradulent behavior in connection with the execution of the agreement,” the SkinnyGirl moguls’ attorney Allan Mayefsky told People in a statement.
Bernard Claire, Hoppy’s lawyer, when hearing that Frankel announced that she was pleased with the ruling, countered that he and his client were “please about Bethenny’s definition of winning.” Claire also claims that it was a good day in court for his client.
A People source reported that Mayefsky’s assertion that the court had decided Jason had committed fraud was “totally inaccurate and contradicted by the actual words in the appellate decision.” The source went on to explain that the trust was “rendered invalid because of improper acknowledgement.”
Frankel, who has made millions off of her SkinnyGirl products, purchased the property. But Hoppy claims that they had intended it to be a joint property and he contributed to its maintenance and renovations thus giving him rights to the property.
The final ruling of whether Hoppy has rights to the property will be made later. But for now, Frankel will be saving $12,000 per month of alimony from her $26,000 previously totaled monthly court-ordered payments to her husband which began last year.
The Real Housewives of New York star and Hoppy split in December 2012 after three years of marriage. They share a five-year-old daughter Bryn.
