Beth Chapman, ‘Dog The Bounty Hunter’ Star, Dies Of Throat Cancer At 51

Dog The Bounty Hunter star, Beth Chapman, has died at 51.

On Wednesday, June 26, Chapman passed away with throat cancer at the age of 51. Chapman was diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in September 2017.

Duane Dog Chapman, the husband of Beth, announced Beth’s death in a heartbreaking tweet. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain,” he wrote. “Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

A rep for the Chapmans told People, “Beth died at 5:32 this morning, the same time she would wake up to go hiking Koko Head. The exact same time. She was surrounded by family and Dog was there, holding her hand.”

Beth was honored at a memorial in Waikiki, Hawaii. Sometime after, Beth’s daughter, Cecily, shared a photo on Instagram honoring her mother. Cecily posted an image of colorful flowers floating on the clear ocean. On all her posts, she also included the hashtag #AlohaOeMrsDog.

 “Oe means ‘you’ in Hawaiian. It is customary to say, ‘Aloha ‘Oe’ especially when saying farewell,” a rep for the Chapmans said. “There is a song by the same name, which Hawaiians often sing at the end of a party, funerals, or when people are leaving the islands.”

Beth’s stepdaughter, Lyssa, also made a tribute to her mother by posting multiple images on social media. On her most recent Instagram post, she captions the photo with, “Someone wake me up from this awful dream. I have no words. I am still in disbelief. Pray for our family, as we lost our strongest member,” she ends the caption with a broken heart emoji.

On Twitter, Lyssa re-posted an old video of her and her stepmother playing a trick on Dog and Tim, his fellow bounty hunter.

Dog announced on Twitter that an official memorial service for Beth will be held in Denver, Colorado.
