Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, who played male models Zoolander and Hansel in 2001’s Zoolander, announced the comedy’s sequel at the Valentino show at Paris Fashion Week.
To the surprise of those taking in Valentino’s 2015 Fall/Winter collection, Stiller and Wilson came out as their much-beloved Zoolander characters to strut down the runway.
“Apparently Derek and Hansel have come to terms on #Zoolander2,” Stiller captioned a picture (above) on Instagram of the two backstage at the show. Joining the actors backstage was model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne, who captioned a picture, “I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more to life than being really really ridiculously good looking… And I plan on finding out what that is #ZOOLANDER2 #BLUESTEEL #DEREK #HANSEL.”
Following the show, Paramount confirmed Zoolander 2 on Twitter.
Production on Zoolander 2 began last month. Filming on the picture will commence soon in Rome for 12 weeks at Cinecitta Studios. Stiller is directing the picture from a script by Justin Theroux. Will Ferrell, Christine Taylor and Penelope Cruz are all starring.
