The cast of the 90s sitcom Boy Meets World, including Ben Savage (Corey Matthews), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), Matthew Lawrence (Jack Hunter), Betsy Randle (Mrs. Matthews), Trina McGee-Davis (Angela Moore) and Maitland Ward Baxter (Rachel McGuire) reunited to host a panel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin.
Baxter, who portrayed Rachel on Boy Meets World in the show’s college years, posted a pic on Instagram of herself with Lawrence and Savage with the caption: “Still going with two of my favorite men.”
Not in attendance were Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) and everyone’s favorite teacher William Daniels (Mr. Feeny).
The Disney Channel recently picked up Girl Meets World, a spin-off to the 90s classic where Fishel and Savage will reprise their roles as a married couple, and the show will follow their daughter, Riley (Rowan Blanchard) in her own coming-of-age story.
Savage believes that Girl Meets World will be a fresh show and not just a reboot of Boy Meets World. “The most interesting tweets we’ve gotten are like, ‘I watched “Boy Meets World” with my dad and I’m so excited to watch “Girl Meets World” with my daughter’. And I think it’s so wonderful to see how it crossed generations. That’s why we’re really excited about it,” Savage told a press conference.
