Ben Kingsley On Playing A Sikh In ‘Learning To Drive’ [EXCLUSIVE VIDEO]

uInterview caught up with Academy-Award winner Ben Kinglsey on the red carpet of the New York premiere for his most recent film Learning to Drive.

In the film, Kingsley plays Darwan, a Sikh driving instructor. “My character is so decent and so strong and in a sense, you know, like all Sikhs he is a warrior, that all I needed to do was play him,” Kingsley told uInterview.

The English actor hopes the talent behind the camera will combine with his acting chops to make a well-received film. “Because it was so well-written and so beautifully directed that all the you mentioned will take care of themselves. I can’t be evangelical with my work, I’ve just got to play the guy, and if I give him my best shot then maybe all the bonuses will come off that.”
